« backWAVELLITE CRYSTALS
High Down Quarry, Filleigh,
Near Barnstable, Devon
Wavellite forms spherical, radiating aggregates of crystals which, when seen in section, are very attractive.
Wavellite was first discovered at High Down Quarry in Devon where it occurs lining joints in black, cherty slate. The unusual shape of this specimen is due to natural joints in the rock. It has a cut base.
