An old metal gold pan dating from the 1970s that has been used extensively for panning gold in North Wales and Scotland.
It is slightly rusty but could probably be returned to usable condition with sandpaper. Many gold prospectors swear by their rusty gold pans as the rusty surface traps the fine gold.
Curiously, this particular pan has also been painted in the past.
