Polished slice
Unakite is a rock consisting mainly of the green mineral epidote, but also containing pink feldspar and colourless quartz. It is very attractive and takes a good polish. It has been used in jewellery and is regarded as a semi-precious stone.
It occurs in the USA in Virginia and on the shores of Lake Superior. It also occurs in South Africa, Brazil and China.
