Trilobites were marine animals. They flourished in the seas during the Ordovician period, before there was any animal life on land. This example is from Ordovician rocks in Morocco. Their brown colour is caused by the iron mineral, limonite.
This fossil has one corner missing but is a very nice example of a trilobite. It is presented in a lidded gift box.
