« backTIGER’S EYE
Bag of small unpolished slices
Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Tiger’s eye is the name for a variety of quartz which has a remarkable optical quality called ‘chatoyancy’, where light is reflected in a particular way due to the fibrous structure of the mineral.
There are a minimum of ten slices in the bag. Some of the slices are very good quality but the optical effect can only be seen to good effect when polished, or when they are wet.
