THE NATURAL HISTORY OF THE FRODINGHAM IRONSTONE (Second hand copy in very good condition)
« backTHE NATURAL HISTORY OF THE FRODINGHAM IRONSTONE
A superb little guide to the fossils of the Frodingham Ironstone which have become very popular with collectors since the quarries at Scunthorpe closed in the 1990s.
The Frodingham Ironstone had been worked at Scunthorpe for the making of iron and steel since 1859. There were originally some 10 kilometres of quarries running along the eastern side of the town which, in their heyday, produced beautifully-preserved fossils.
