SMOKY QUARTZ CRYSTAL GROUP - Cornwall
« backSMOKY QUARTZ CRYSTALS
with fluorite epimorphs
Restowrack China Clay Pit,
near St. Dennis, Cornwall
A fine group of smoky quartz crystals from a Cornish china clay pit.
This piece has some square impressions which are the result of the dissolution of cubic crystals of fluorite. Such features are known as 'epimorphs'.
One or two crystals have minor damage on the terminations but otherwise this is a very good example of Cornish smoky quartz.
