SILICON CARBIDE CRYSTALS (ARTIFICIAL)
« backSILICON CARBIDE CRYSTALS
Crystals of silicon carbide (also known as carborundum)
Grown artificially and mounted on an acrylic block (second hand item)
Silicon carbide is a compound of silicon and carbon and more commonly known as
carborundum. It very rarely occurs in nature but it is artificially produced for various industrial uses such as carborundum powder for abrasives.
This is a second hand item and the acrylic block is slightly scuffed but otherwise satisfactory.
Caution: Silicon carbide crystals have sharp edges and must be handled with care.
