Khouribga, Morocco
A vertebra from the shark Otodus obliquus, an extinct species of mackerel shark which lived from the Paleocene to the Miocene epoch. It is still encased in the phosphatic limestone in which it was found.
Like most sharks, it had a skeleton consisting of cartilage and therefore it is only known from its teeth and vertebrae.
