Oxford Clay
Crook Hill Brick Pit, Chickerell,

Selenite is a transparent variety of gypsum. The crystals naturally grow in clay as a result of a chemical reaction between the calcium of fossil shells and the sulphur from iron pyrite.
These three crystals were collected from the well known Crook Hill Brick Pit in 1974 and are from an old collection.
Presented in a glass gemstone box.
