This small, heart-shaped sea urchin of the genus Micraster from the Chalk is complete and well-preserved. It is presented in a vintage glass museum display box. A delightful little fossil.
Sea urchins, or echinoids, are marine creatures with shells covered in spines, which became detached when the animal died.
This fossil is from an old collection and was collected in the 1980s.
