RUBELLITE CRYSTALS IN QUARTZ

An attractive and very rich example of pink rubellite crystals in white quartz.

Rubellite (from the Latin for red) is a pink or red variety of elbaite which is in the tourmaline group of minerals. The ruby-red stones are the most highly prized as gemstones.

The crystals are striated, usually with a triangular cross-section.
