Marking the discovery of mammoth and other fossils at Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire
(second hand item in very good condition)
In 2006 the Royal Mail issued a set of special stamps to mark the discovery of remarkable Ice Age fossils in a quarry at Stanton Harcourt in Oxfordshire, including a mammoth skull and stone tools proving the presence of Neanderthal hunters at the same time.
The stamps are of sabre-tooth cat, giant deer, woolly rhinoceros, woolly mammoth and cave bear.
The pack contains facts about the discovery, and Ice Age mammals generally, together with colour photos. In very good condition.
