A very large and colourful example of rose quartz.

Pieces of rose quartz this big rarely become available for sale nowadays. This example is from an old collection that was amassed several decades ago.

Although it rarely occurs as natural crystals, this beautiful variety of quartz is popular with collectors because of its unique colour. It occurs in many parts of the world, but the best rose quartz comes from rocks known as pegmatites in Madagascar and Brazil.
