Richard Barstow (1947-1982) was Britain's leading mineral dealer in the 1970s and early 1980s until his tragic death at the young age of 35. He started the business in 1972, trading by mail order from his home near Botallack in Cornwall, later moving to Drakewalls, near Gunnislake in 1978.

He has been described as the most enterprising of the modern-day field collectors in Britain and a formidable mineralogist, researching and collecting from the classic sites and acquiring fine specimens from old collections.
His distinctive typed monthly lists on green paper were highly regarded, with affordable specimens and accurate descriptions. They are now collectable in their own right, being a snapshot of the minerals available at the time. Each list typically consists of 6 pages with about 100 specimen descriptions and prices.
The 38 lists in this bundle are as follows:
1973 (Sept, Oct, Dec), 1974 (Jan-April and Nov), 1975 (Sept, Oct), 1976 (April), 1979 (March, Aug-Dec), 1980 (Jan, Feb, April-Dec), 1981 (Jan-Oct).
There are minor pencil or pen marks on a few pages.
