A replica of a very fine large complete ammonite from Jurassic rocks in Dorset. A wonderful educational item that is also perfect for home decoration. It is designed to be wall-hung indoors.

A full technical description is provided on the back. The most marked feature of this ammonite is the dramatic change in ribbing from dense to fine on the inner whorls to a very great increase in size and spacing particularly on the last 3/4 whorl which is almost certainly the body chamber.

This replica was produced by Stuart Baldwin's company Educational Palaeontological Reproductions in the 1990s. It is hollow and made of fibreglass so it is lightweight. It has two holes which enables it to be hung in different ways.
