A gorgeous fossil marine bivalve from the London Clay. Both valves are present and the original 'mother of pearl' shell is preserved.

This fossil is from an old collection and is understood to have been from the famous excavations for the extension of Portsmouth Dockyard in the late 19th century.

​​​​​​​Presented in a vintage museum display box with a close-fitting glass lid.
