A granite of unusual appearance consisting of large, roundish orthoclase feldspar crystals with grey-green rims of plagioclase feldspar. This is known as 'rapakivi texture'.
This granite is from the large Vyborg massif of Precambrian age. It is widely used commercially as a polished stone under the name Baltic Brown.
This is a large sample, polished on one side only.
