A very unusual example of fossil corals naturally etched out of the enclosing limestone by flowing water.  It was collected during quarrying operations in 1981.
   
This fossil is part of a coral reef that existed in a tropical sea that covered England during the Carboniferous period when Britain was situated on the equator.  
  
Please note: This item weighs over 1.5 kilograms
