Northumberland

A polished slice of limestone packed with beautifully preserved fossil corals. Under magnification this is a really lovely piece.

This fossil is part of a coral reef that existed in a tropical sea that covered England during the Carboniferous period when Britain was situated on the equator.  

From the Carboniferous Limestone of Northumberland.

A plastic stand is included.
