Peridot is the gem quality variety of the mineral olivine.
It is found as small green crystals in volcanic lava (basalt) and also as waterworn, rounded grains in stream sediments.
This item consists of 80 grams of small peridot pebbles in a vintage museum display box with a glass lid. From an old collection.
