MINERALS OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL ENGLAND
This category includes the classic mineral localities of the North Pennine orefield, especially around the town of Alston in Cumbria and Weardale in County Durham which have produced some of Britain's, if not the World's most beautiful mineral specimens.
It also includes the classic metal mining areas of the Lake District such as the Caldbeck Fells, the iron ore mines of West and South Cumbria, and the lead mines of the Peak District of Derbyshire.
