Two nodules of pyrite from the Chalk of south Cambridgshire.
These nodules are relatively heavy and typical of pyrite nodules from the Lower and Middle Chalk. When broken open they frequently reveal radiating pyrite crystals.
The brown surface consists of iron oxide in the form of the mineral limonite.
