NATIVE GOLD
Flakes of real gold
Klondike Gold Fields, Yukon Territory, Canada
These are small flakes of real gold from the famous Klondike region of the Yukon Territories in northwest Canada, east of the Alaskan border. The area where this gold was found is situated around the Klondike River, a small river that enters the Yukon River from the east at Dawson City.
The Klondike is famous because of the Klondike Gold Rush between the years 1897 and 1899 when tens of thousands of would-be prospectors travelled down the treacherous Yukon River to the Klondike Goldfields in the biggest gold rush in history.
Gold occurring naturally is known as 'native' gold. A 'native' element is an element in its pure state and not combined with other elements. Other examples are native copper and native sulphur.
Each box contains about twenty flakes of gold.
Please note: We have a very limited number of these boxes in stock. The photographs are typical examples of what we have.
