MULL IN THE MAKING
By Rosalind Jones
(Second hand copy in 'as new' condition)
(Booklet)
Although there are Precambrian and Palaeozoic rocks at the island's margins, the geology of the Isle of Mull is dominated by a central volcanic complex associated with the opening of the Atlantic Ocean, and the bedrock of a large part of the island is formed by basalt lava flows.
This booklet explains the formation of the island extremely well and sets a very high standard for popular books on geology. It is very well written and illustrated without too much jargon.
Illustrated with black and white maps and photographs. Published by Craigmore Publications. 1997.
Softback. 40 pages. 'As new' condition.
