Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa
Malachite, a copper carbonate, is a beautiful green, banded semi-precious gemstone.
It is also an ore of copper. It forms deep underground in botryoidal (grape-like) masses. Crystals of malachite are rare.
An acrylic display stand is included.
