LIZARDITE (CUT AND POLISHED) - Norway
« backLIZARDITE (NORWEGIAN ‘JADE’)
with black hematite
Cut and polished
Dypingdal, Snarum, Norway
The attractive mineral lizardite is named after the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall where it comprises much of the serpentine that makes up this geologically unique part of Britain. Serpentine itself is a beautiful ornamental stone that has an origin deep in the Earth’s mantle.
This example is a small, thick slice that sits upright without the need of a stand. A very good example of this decorative mineral.
