Dredged off Weymouth Harbour, Dorset
Ichthyosaurs were fast-swimming marine reptiles that dominated the Jurassic seas.
These vertebrae are solidly fossilised and relatively heavy. They are worn and eroded as they have been dredged from the sea floor. They have been treated wth a preservative.
