Lower Lias Clay
Blockley, Gloucestershire
The well-known Blockley Station Quarry is an important site because it displays a unique section of the Upper Clays of the Lower Lias that are not exposed elsewhere in the British Isles.
This fossil is from the ‘Pecten Bed’ at the quarry. A lovely example of part of the sea floor from the Jurassic period. It is from an old collection.
