A very impressive thin plate of Jurassic limestone crowded with beautifully preserved shells (tests) of tiny echinoids and their spines. Specimens like this are known as 'mortality plates'.
There are at least 20 complete echinoids present, as well as a large number of spines. A remarkable specimen.
The plate is robust, but it is only about one centimetre thick. It is presented in a lidded box.
