« backJURASSIC FOSSIL CORAL
150 million years old
TIsbury, Wiltshire
A good polished example of the classic Tisbury coral.
The beautiful fossil corals from Tisbury in Wiltshire are unique because they have been silicified (preserved by quartz). The rock therefore takes a beautiful polish which reveals the intricate detail of the coral polyps.
These corals only occur the Jurassic Portland Beds of the Tisbury area and are highly collectable.
