Tidmore Point, near Weymouth, Dorset
A collection of little belemnites from the foreshore at Tidmore Point. They were collected in 1974 and are from an old collection. Presented in a glass topped display box.
Belemnites are extinct squid-like sea creatures that were very common during the age of the dinosaurs, a period of the Earth's history when much of England was submerged beneath warm seas. The unique bullet-shaped internal shell, called a guard, is all that remains of them.
