Ammonites are extinct marine shellfish that were common during the age of the dinosaurs, a period of the Earth's history when parts of England and Scotland were submerged beneath warm seas.

​​​​​​​This delightful little specimen contains several ammonites on all sides.


Important note: This fossil is from from a loose beach boulder. Bearreraig Bay is a protected geological site and hammering of rock exposures is not permitted.
