A lovely boxed example of a Jurassic ammonite from Germany.  Presented in a vintage, glass-topped museum display box with a label affixed to the back.  A nice little gift item.
  
Ammonites are extinct marine shellfish that were common during the age of the dinosaurs.
  
In this specimen a prominent rostrum is visible indicating that this is a male (microconch).
