An nice example of an ammonite from the Middle Lias 'Junction Bed' near Ilminster.
The Lias rocks of the Ilminster area are unusual in that they take the form of a highly condensed sequence with several ammonite zones reduced to only a few metres in thickness and sometimes packed with ammonites.
Presented in a vintage display box with a hinged lid.
