The Mineralogical Almanac is published in association with the Russian Geological Society and is packed with information and beautiful photographs of minerals and their localities. 

This special issue is devoted to the Ilmeny Mountains in the south Urals which are a world-famous source of gemstones and outstanding specimens of rare-earth minerals. During almost two centuries 227 different mineral species have been found there, and for 18 of these minerals the Ilmeny Mountains are the type locality. This book gives the history of mineral exploration in the region and geological and mineralogical descriptions of the Ilmeny pegmatites.
