'HERMANOV SPHERE'
(PHLOGOPITE AND ANTHOPHYLLITE)
Heřmanov, Vysočina Region, Czech Republic
A very good example of what is known as a ‘Hermanov sphere’.
It consists of a core of phlogopite mica crystals with a shell of radiating anthophyllite crystals. These mineral curiosities are unique to this location.
This is a good example from an old university collection.
