A small specimen of botryoidal Hematite, also known as 'kidney ore', from a famous mine in Cornwall. Kidney ore is very rare in Cornwall, unlike in the iron mines of West Cumbria.
The history of this specimen is not known, it may date back to the 19th century. The label attached implies it was purchased in 1976.
