GEOLOGY OF GREENLAND

By Arthur Escher and W. Stuart Watt

Published by the Geological Survey of Greenland (First edition 1976)

(Hardback) (second hand copy in very good condition)

This beautiful book is packed with information, maps and black and white photos of Greenland's stunning geology. A large and heavy book (nearly 2.5 kg), it is an account of all aspects of the geology of Greenland, which includes some of the oldest dated rocks in the world.

Greenland occupies a key position in the North Atlantic region, the geological divisions and faunal provinces represented providing important links between North America and Europe in all geological periods from the Precambrian to recent. It also has remarkable rock exposures, due to the unique inland ice cap which is responsible for the ice-free land margin.

Published by the Geological Survey of Greenland. 1976. Hardback. 603 pages. Some fold-out maps. No dust jacket. Very good condition. Date and signature of previous owner on flyleaf.
