An overview of the bedrock geology of the whole of the Britain.
This 2014 reprint of the classic 1969 map depicts the bedrock geology (formerly called 'solid geology') of the whole of the United Kingdom and Ireland, the Channel Islands and part of northern France. The outcrops of all the major rock types are shown, with a key giving the geological eras and periods.
The map also shows important towns and cities, main roads, major rivers and pre-1965 counties.
