GEOLOGICAL GUIDE TO THE

DINGLE PENINSULA

The Geological Survey of Ireland -

Guide Series No.1

By Ralph R. Horne

(Softback) (Second hand copy - ex library book)

The Dingle Peninsula, on Ireland’s southwest Atlantic coast, is ringed by sandy beaches and steep cliffs. It is one of Ireland’s most beautiful destinations. The rocks date back to the Silurian period when Ireland was south of the equator. The peninsula is of particular geological interest because the amazing and complex story is accessible along the coast over a relatively short distance.

This little guide was produced by the Geological Survey of Ireland and is aimed at amateur and professional geologists - it is not suitable for the general visitor.

Published by the Geological Survey of Ireland. Revised edition 1983. Softback. Black and white maps and illustrations. 52 pages. Ex library book in fair condition with the usual library stamps.
