FOSSILISED WOOD

Cut and polished end of log

200 million years old (Triassic period)

Zimbabwe, Africa

This fossil consists of a cut and polished section of fossilised wood - in this case the end of the log.

Fossilised wood from Zimbabwe is not colourful but it is attractive, with some preservation of growth rings and subtle dark brown and slightly greenish colouration.

This item makes a good display piece and sits well without the need for a stand.
