FOSSIL PLANTS OF THE
LONDON CLAY

By Margaret E. Collinson

(Second hand copy - ex library book in good condition)

The London Clay contains a rich, diverse, and historically important flora of Eocene age. This guide uses keys accompanied by photographs to identify over 250 species, including all of the common plant fossils. A more expanded text deals with those modern angiosperm families whose fruits and seeds are well represented in the London Clay.

The paleoenvironmental implications of this flora are also discussed and the ranges of the species are fitted into a stratigraphical framework. In addition, there are details of twenty-two localities in the London and Hampshire Basins, and also notes on collecting and conservation techniques.

This is an ex library book from a University library and has library stamps on the inside cover and on the title page. It is otherwise in good condition.

Published by the Palaeontological Association as No 1. of their Field Guides to Fossils. 1983.
