A splendid hippo tusk from a classic fossil site in Indonesia.
This extinct species of hippo is also known as Hexaprotodon. The Asian members of this genus ranged from the Indian subcontinent to Southeast Asia, and are thought to have had an aquatic lifestyle similar to that of the living hippopotamus.
