Araripe Basin, Brazil
The Lower Cretaceous rocks of the Araripe Basin of Brazil contain some of the best-preserved fossils in the World. The most famous of these are the fossil fish from the Santana Formation.
The outline of the fish has been somewhat embellished, but it is still a very nice specimen.
This example is from an old collection. Presented in a lidded gift box.
