These beautifully preserved shells of marine molluscs resemble modern shells but are genuine fossils.
They were found on the foreshore at Bracklesham Bay, Sussex, in clays called the Bracklesham Beds that were laid down under the sea in the Upper Eocene period when the climate was warmer than today.
