« backHOLLOW FIBREGLASS REPLICA
OF A GIANT BRITISH JURASSIC AMMONITE
(second hand)
From an original specimen (the holotype) in the Natural History Museum, London
Titanites anguiformis
150 million years old
Isle of Portland, Dorset
A replica of a very fine large complete Jurassic ammonite from Dorset. One of the largest ammonites ever found in the UK. A wonderful educational item. It can be wall-hung indoors.
It is hollow and made of fibreglass so it is lightweight. It has recently been repainted. It was previously used for display as part of a school science workshop.
This replica was originally purchased from Stuart Baldwin's company Educational Palaeontological Reproductions in the 1990s. A fully comprehensive descriptive label is fixed to the back (extract from Stuart Baldwin's catalogue).
