A caudal (tail) vertebra of a dinosaur that was found on the beach at Brook Bay. It originated in the cliffs in rock strata known as the Wessex Formation (part of the Wealden Group).

A caudal (tail) vertebra of a dinosaur that was found on the beach at Brook Bay. It originated in the cliffs in rock strata known as the Wessex Formation (part of the Wealden Group).
It is thought to be from the herbivorous dinosaur Mantellisaurus atherfieldensis
(formerly Iguanodon atherfieldensis).

It is slightly crushed in the centre, but well preserved and unworn, with no repairs or restoration.
