In the province of Neuquén in Patagonia, rocks of late Cretaceous age contain vast numbers of nests of the dinosaur Saltasaurus, together with broken fragments of eggshell. These sites have provided much information about the family life of dinosaurs.
The piece of eggshell is from an old university collection that was used to promote research into dinosaur embryos. It is provided in a glass-topped plastic display box as shown.
