Gobi Desert, Mongolia

A replica of a Protoceratops egg from the Gobi Desert, Mongolia.  A fine, complete, though slightly crushed egg of a horned dinosaur. Most of the shell is present.

This replica was produced by Stuart Baldwin's company Educational Palaeontological Reproductions in the 1990s and has remained in storage ever since. It is made of the dense, hard plaster for which Stuart Baldwin's replicas were renowned.
